CCR #3- How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

My creative approach was a presentation.

Production skills are an important part of creating films. This is because having better production skills can make a film better and more entertaining. Without good production skills, a film may not look very realistic, and a film might not be as entertaining as it was originally intended to be.

Production skills can range from anything between having good camera shots, having costuming that fits with the characters role, adding proper score and sound effects, recreating sounds as realistic as possible with foley, and having props that fit with the storyline.

My production skills have developed in beneficial ways while working on this project. Before filming my project, I originally didn't have much thought on the importance of score in films and before I filmed, I thought I wasn't going to use score. After filming my opening scene, I realized my scenes could be improved with some sort of background music to make the film more attention-grabbing to the audience.

Here is an excerpt from one of my scenes that shows James getting out of bed without score. Now here is this same excerpt but with score.

After adding score I noticed that this one small detail made the scene more exciting and suspenseful.

My process of filming scenes with appropriate camera angles has also improved throughout the duration of this project. While filming this project, I took more considerations into the effects that certain camera angles give in order to evoke certain emotions within the audience.

Here is a 2 second clip of D.L exiting his vehicle. This clip is filmed from a low angle and my reasoning for this angle was to make D.L look more menacing and to evoke an emotion of fear within the audience.
