Blog post #1-Final Project Idea

My opening sequence idea for the project is to make a scene where a house gets robbed by a mastermind criminal who is said to be the best robber in the whole state of Florida and after he successfully robs the house the scene will end with him and his partner in crime going off to rob another house. I am planning to film this at night to be able to build suspense and have very low lighting outside of the houses. I will be using foley elements to create more realistic footsteps to build more suspense. Patriarchy representation will be used throughout my final project by showing both mastermind criminals being males. Over the shoulder shots will be used to show individuals having conversations and to show what characters are holding. Eyeline matches will also be used to show what characters are looking at in that moment.

I will use juxtaposition to show what the owner of the house is doing while the criminal is robbing the house. When the criminal exits out of the vehicle, I will use a low angle shot to make the criminal look more menacing to the audience. For the costuming, the criminals will wear full black clothes. In my opening scene for the project I will use a sound element to show that the criminal made a mistake while robbing the house. Mid shots are going to be used in my opening scene to show the body language of the characters throughout the film.
