Blog post #8 - The setting for my project

My project will be filmed on my road and inside my house. The project will be filmed at night time. The reason for my project being filmed at night is because at night there is close to no natural lighting at all. I wanted to incorporate this low amount of lighting in order to build suspense and fear within the audience and to represent the stereotype of crimes happening at nighttime. In most films, a crime will usually occur at night time instead of during the day. When filming my project, almost every single light will be off in my house in order to also have the effects that low natural lighting gives. This low lighting will also help signify that it is night time and represent the stereotype of people sleeping at later hours of the day with their lights turned off. 

This setting fits in with the crime genre because most crime genre films usually have very low ambient
lighting and when the crime is being committed in the film it is usually filmed at nighttime. An example of this is in the movie "The Batman" The Riddler kills Don Mitchell while it is night time. The audience can tell that the time of day is night because of the very low ambient lighting used throughout the whole scene of the Riddler committing this crime.
