Blog Post #9 - Main hero analysis

For my project, the hero will be briefly shown near the middle of the film and at the end of the film. In my film, the hero will be an ordinary guy who after getting robbed, seeks revenge on whoever committed this crime. The hero also wants to stop this criminal from committing anymore crimes. The costuming that will be used for the hero will be a casual and normal outfit. The hero of my story will be named James. Even though the hero is barely shown in the film, the hero will still have an important role in my project because the hero will be the one who stops D.L from committing crimes. The audience will be able to know that James is the hero because of the angles and editing techniques that will be used while James is on screen.

At the end of the film when James is on screen, a low angle shot will be used in order to make James seem more menacing and to show the audience that James is planning something heroic. When James is talking, he speaks in a tone of seeking justice. This shows the audience that James wants to stop the criminals who robbed his house. An eyeline match will be used to show James looking at the criminals driving away from his house. This shows the audience that James is aware that he has been robbed and the criminals have escaped. After this eyeline match, a close up shot will be used to show the audience James's facial reactions in order to better emphasize the tone of seeking justice.
