Blog Post #34 - Title sequences in films
Whenever you are watching a film, you may notice at a certain point the title of the film is shown. A title sequence is when the title is shown in the film, usually in a creative way that grabs the audiences attention towards the film. A title sequence usually includes some sort of score sound element that helps in getting the audience excited for the film and this can also sometimes be used to build more suspense within the audience.
An example of a title sequence is the title sequence from Avengers Endgame. In this title sequence the audience is shown The Avengers logo in black and gold outline and the word Avengers written in gold which then transitions to the word Endgame written in silver to show the full name of the title of the film. While this title sequence is being shown, The Avengers theme is also playing. Using this theme helps the film producers create familiarity with the film within the audience. Having the title in gold and silver letters helps the film producers grab the attention of the audience and create a feeling of excitement by emphasizing the importance of this film.
For my project I would like to have a title sequence that successfully showcases my title to the audience and grabs the audiences attention. I will add score to the title sequence in order to help my goal of grabbing the audiences attention with this title sequence.
