Blog Post #38- D.L at the front of James's house

After D.L exits his vehicle he then goes to the front of James's house in order to enter the house from the front door. In my opening scene the door to James's house will already be opened before James has to do anything that would be useful to open a locked door. In my film D.L will be very surprised and shocked by this, which is shown by D.L saying the line "What kind of idiot leaves their door open?" While D.L is at the front door he turns his flashlight on because he is aware of the fact that the house will most likely not have any lights on when he successfully enters James's house. As mentioned before in a previous post discussing the value of the flashlight to D.L, the flashlight will help D.L be able to see where he is going in the dark house.

In this clip of the film, handheld camera techniques are used. My reasoning for using these camera techniques are to make the audience feel like they are in the film with D.L and to make D.L's movement more realistic to the audience. In this clip there is also practical lighting used. This comes from 2 lights that are near James's front door. My reason for including this practical lighting in this clip was to emphasize the fact that it is dark outside and that it is hard to see outside without some source of light. A diegetic and synchronous sound of a door being opened is also used in this clip. This sound is used to show the audience that D.L has successfully opened the front door to James's house.
