Blog Post #55- Final clip of my opening scene
After James rushes to his front door he realizes the criminals have driven off with his briefcase. Angered by this, James says the line "they'll pay for this, I'm gonna get these criminals locked up". This line is used in order to show the audience that James seeks revenge on these criminals because of the crime that they committed and this also emphasizes the fact that James is angered because of his money getting stolen. Below is the clip of James looking out of the door at D.L and his partner driving away.
In the clip, James is recorded at a low angle shot. My reasoning for this low angle shot is to make James look more empowering, because he seeks to defeat the best criminal in all of Florida which is a very difficult task to complete. For this clip, a counter stereotype is used and the stereotype that it is countering is the stereotype that an average person wouldn't be able to take down a criminal. The way that this clip is countering this stereotype is that this clip shows an ordinary guy determined to take down a mastermind criminal for all his crimes that he has committed.
