Blog Post #60- Transition usage in my film

After successfully researching different transitions used in film I decided to use the transitions that I researched in my previous blog post. These transitions were the straight cut, dissolving transition, and a fade to black transition. After implementing these transitions, it made my film look better when compared to the film with just straight cuts.

Straight cuts were the least used transition in my film. My reasoning for not using this transition more than the other transitions was because I thought that straight cuts are very basic and I could have transitions that are more interesting and less basic. The straight cut that I used in my film was used in order to switch a side shot of D.L into an over the shoulder shot.

Most of my film contained dissolving transitions. My reasoning for this choice of transition is because the dissolving transition is very smooth. The dissolving transition also works very well in showing the audience that time has passed within the film.

The fade to black transition that I used in my film was shown when transitioning to the clip of James looking out of his door. The reason for why I chose a fade to black transition for this scene is because this transition adds suspense to a very impactful clip in my opening scene.
