Hey what are you doing right now?


Oh hey I’m just editing this new opening scene for my film called The Arrest of D.L: James’s Justice.


Oh that’s really cool! What’s the film, The Arrest of D.L: James’s Justice, about?


Oh, my film is about this ordinary guy called James who wants revenge on D.L to get justice after D.L robbed his house and to stop D.L. From committing crimes.


That’s a really cool idea! What exactly are you using in order to edit this opening scene to your film? 


I’m using this editing software called I movie in order to edit all my clips properly.


Oh ok, what exactly does I movie allow you to do? 


iMovie allows me to cut out unnecessary parts of certain clips, add text to clips, increase or decrease audio within filmed content and it even lets me add more audio elements like score, here I’ll show you some score I used in my opening for the purpose of a suspenseful environment.


Oh yeah that definitely makes the scene way better! How did you find background music that fits with the scenes that it’s used with?


What I did was that I went on YouTube and searched for score that was very suspenseful and I made sure that this score element would fit in with a crime film environment.


that makes sense, YouTube is always a good choice to find useful resources. But what did you use to film this opening scene?


Oh I used my own I phone 14 because of its abilities to film at 4k with its 12mp main camera. Filming with my own phone made all my clips more visible to the audience.


So someone can even use their own phone to film at good quality?


Yep! That’s right.


So, even someone without a very high budget can start a film on their own?


That’s correct!


Oh wow, I might have to try something like that by myself!


That’s really cool!


Alright well whenever your done editing this opening scene you have to show me.
